Vanessa Hudgens doesn’t want to be thought of as the High School Musical girl anymore. Like her HSM costar and real-life boyfriend, Zac Efron, Vanessa said that she looks for varied film roles and doesn’t want to be typecast in her role as a brainiac in the High School Musical series anymore.

Vanessa is currently filming Beastly, a modern-day remake of the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast, in Montreal. Vanessa will next appear in Zack Snyder’s action film Sucker Punch alongside Jena Malone and Carla Gugino. Sounds like Vanessa will certainly be breaking out of her High School Musical role in these films! From Vanessa-Hudgens.Org:
